Eagle City

Originally named Dillon, the post office opened July 1902.  The name was changed to Eagle City September 4, 1909.

My research didn’t turn up much.  Wildfires have spread through the countryside destroying a lot of the old buildings.  As for why this town did not survive I can not answer.  Railroad tracks pass through the town, and there is an old grain elevator next to them.  One building that remains in the old filling station.  Another one reminded me of a small school.

A few homes, a dog, and church still remain active.
